At the May Parish Council Meeting it was agreed that there are no enough people to start a Playing Field Committee as a stand alone group as opposed to being tagged on to the Gateway to Grimscott Group as it has been in the past year.
A meeting is being organised for early June to progress this and set the committee up formally. We have two parish councillors on the committee and at present 5 parents/grandparents willing to be committee members also.
It is a really good start, 7 people will be able to make quite an impact however there is always room for more. Fundraising ideas are already flowing, including quizzes, golf days and teddy bears picnics!

The Gateway to Grimscott Group has kindly agreed to team up with the Playing Field Committee in order to progress various improvements to the Playing Field.
BUT...... We need your help, please take a minute to tell us what you think is the most important improvement that could be made to encourage your usage of the Playing Field.
Your input is very valuable and we may use it as a basis to form grant applications as they become available in the future to help fund this process.
As previously reported in the magazine we are looking for ideas for the playing field on how to improve the facilities. At the recent Horticultural Show we had a table with a couple of questions on it and we would like to ask you for a moment of your time to consider those questions as well.
If you do not have internet access then do not worry, this is an initial information gathering exercise before the playing field meeting on Thursday 19th September to give us some avenues to explore – there will be other opportunities.
We would be very grateful if you would take part in the survey, the questions are:
What would encourage you to use our playing field more?
Decked or Sheltered Seating Area
How often would you use the playing field if improvements were made?
0-3 times per month
4-6 times per month
7+ times per month
Would you like to see more facilities for?
You can also submit your own suggestions. Thank you to those who took part at the Horticultural Show.
Lastly we would like to know if you would be interested or know of anyone who would like to set-up/help to set-up a youth group in the parish? Please let us know.
You can complete our online survey here on the Survey Monkey website
Things are happening.......
This morning (Sunday 13th October) has seen the bonfire grow in size tremendously, thanks to the efforts of Royston & Chris Symons and Tom, Sheridon & Sophia Rosser the playing field is no longer in hiding from the Parishoners. This marks the beginning of a series of planned improvements to the playing field in order to make it more accessible to all Parishioners, and of course the upgrading and provision of new play equipment.
More things have happened!!
