Calendar Competition News!!!

Calling all Parishioners -

The Biggest Competition of the Year!

This year it has been suggested that the Parish Council could, as a fund-raising project, produce a Parish Calendar.

The intention is to create a calendar that will be available for anyone to purchase and can be bought from September/October time ready for next year, as a gift or for what ever use you see fit.

The profits from this scheme will go to a local cause.  As a starter, the Playing Field will benefit from this.  If this is a success then long may it continue, and then further local causes can benefit also.

We are thinking ‘Countryfile Style’ here and would like to make this a competition, open to anyone in the Parish who has captured an image.  Photographs do need to have been taken in Launcells but there is so much choice, in our beautiful area.

Judging will take place later in the summer, the final deadline will be given in due course.

It doesn’t have to be a photograph from this year - it would be lovely to get some old and historical photos as well as sunny days and rainy days and what ever catches your eye.  There are some stunning locations here and all you need to do is click away!  It may be a landscape or an animal that takes your fancy.  Children are very welcome to take part - it would be lovely to have a month or two dedicated to some photographs by the children of Launcells.

The specifics of the calendar are still being worked on but I can assure you that it will have plenty of room to write on; and it is being produced as locally as we could find, by Easy Print at the Red Post Workshops.  Carbon neutral (nearly?!).  We will also work with businesses in the area, for the calendar to be available for purchase at some of our local establishments.

More details will follow along with ‘The Big Competition Launch’ in the May edition of the Parish Magazine and of course information can be found at .

So please get your cameras ready.
