CHARITY TRACTOR RUN
On Sunday 18th August Bradworthy Young Farmers Club held a very successful event in aid of Cancer Research UK. The event was in the form of a 30 mile tractor run from Bradworthy to Launcells via the coastal roads around Hartland, Welcombe and Woolley. There was a fantastic turnout of 76 tractors which completed the route. All drivers and passengers got to see fantastic views of our local coastline and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Upon arrival at Launcells, people enjoyed the BBQ and refreshments available in the sunshine. Also, a dynomameter from Bicton College, ran by Chris Jaworski was available to test the power of the tractors. This was very interesting for many owners but some went home a little disappointed with the actual power of their machines.
All in all, it was a very good day enjoyed by all with around £1500 being raised for a very worthy cause. Many thanks to everyone who attended the event, local business’ for donating raffle prizes and the people who helped to run it.
Congratulations to Chris Allin, Chairperson of Bradworthy Young Farmers Club and Lisa Honey Secretary of Bradworthy Young Farmers Club for organising such a fantastic event. What a fantastic achievement. :-)
