The Orchard Trust

The Orchard Trust was founded in 1965.

The funds were from the sale of 4 almshouses at Cross Lanes, which were in a very deplorable condition.

They were sold by Kivells & Sons for the figure of £375 (old pounds) by private treaty, after agents and solicitors fees were deducted the sum of 356 pounds 3 shillings and 8 pence remained.  This money was invested by the charity commissioners into The Orchard Trust.  The income to be given to deserving Parishioners of the Launcells Parish which the Trustees think fit.

The present trustees are: Margaret Cleave, Paul Wingard and Father David Barnes.
