Launcells Bonfire Night

Added at 13:27 on 09 January 2025

Saturday 9th November saw us celebrate bonfire night here in Grimscott.

A great effort was made to ensure there was a monster of a pile this year and it was certainly impressive once it was lit; cars were slowing down to take in it's beauty as they passed through the village.

Despite there being no fireworks this year, there was still a fantastic turnout, with some travelling quite a distance to celebrate in Grimscott. They were treated to the delights of homemade leek and potato soup and hotdogs for their effort.

The children came out in force and all enjoyed playing in the park under the light of the bonfire and the moon. Small spells of drizzle didn't stop play and everyone ate, drank and played for hours.

Huge thanks go to Brian Pollard, Graham Tape, Caroline Tape, Chelsea Tape and to all who kindly donated money.

A massive shout out to all who attended, it is great to see the community enjoying these events and they would not be possible without your support.

To ensure this wonderful event continues and to fund fireworks for next year, we will be hosting a range of fundraising events throughout 2025, starting with a Big Breakfast on Saturday 18th January. For more details or to book a table, please call Caroline or Graham Tape on 01288381521. Don't forget to tell all your friends!
