The Big Breakfast

Added at 18:31 on 03 March 2025

Person eating a fried breakfastI know we are in the month of March and how quickly time passes by, but I thought I would write a few lines on the Big Breakfast that was held on January 18th, yes a few weeks ago now.
It was held in the Parish Hall and for those who couldn’t come along, it was a delicious traditional English Breakfast, organised by Graham and Caroline Tape, supported by their excellent band of helpers. It consisted of 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausages, an egg, mushrooms, baked beans, tomato and a hash brown and as much toast as you wanted with tea, coffee or orange juice, all for £10.

This was organised by Graham in order to raise money to buy the fireworks for the display in the Grimscott Playing Field on the nearest Saturday to November 5th. An event such as this has been organised to raise money for a few years but last year time slipped by so quickly no fund raising took place so unfortunately there was no fireworks on Bonfire night but they still had the bonfire, soup and hot dogs etc. Hopefully this year there will be fireworks to complete the evening although I think there will probably be another fund raising event to boost the funds even more.

I am sure the firework display at Grimscott will be better than the fireworks display which a man called Jim organised. He was putting on a display but it was a disaster. “I don’t understand it “ he said. “They all worked fine when I tested them yesterday!!!!”
