Vacancy for a Parish Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer

Part time – 20 hours per month

Salary – SCP7-9 pro rata

Launcells Parish Council is seeking a part-time Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer (RFO). We are looking to recruit someone with good organisational and administrative skills, who is computer literate and comfortable with budgets, spreadsheets and administering finances. The ideal candidate would also be approachable and diplomatic while a knowledge of local government would be an advantage. The Clerk/RFO will work from home and will be responsible for the administration of the business of the council.

 

Duties will include:

  • Attend up to 12 meetings per year, dealing with the agendas and minutes.
  • Attend additional Committee meetings where required.
  • Ensure that proper procedures are followed and advise on matters of legislation.
  • Managing the Parish Council's finances as Responsible Finance Officer and ensuring that the Council operates within its financial and legal obligations.

The applicant should reside within a reasonable distance of Launcells Parish Hall (Grimscott) and have use of own car with full clean driving licence.
